There’s one thing in a family holiday that will get a big thumbs up from everyone…and that’s the ‘wow’ factor. And that is exactly the reaction you’re bound to get when your kids see Carnival Legend for the first time.

At 88,500 gross tonnes, with 12 decks and 2124 guest capacity, Carnival Legend has everything you need in an unforgettable family holiday. And that’s before you set foot in any of the breathtaking destinations she’ll take you!

Could this be the best Carnival cruise ship for families? Let’s find out:

Jaw-dropping fun

This ship isn’t short of fun and entertainment to make your kids’ chins drop – and yours! How about the Waterworks Splash Zone, Twister waterslide, mini-golf course, basketball court, 24-hour video arcade, cinema, shops, and swimming pools? Older kids will love the Green Thunder waterslide, which hurtles down at up to 65 kilometres per hour!

Enter the Wonderful World of Seuss At Sea

Kids, especially little ones, will love the whimsical world of Seuss At Sea. “Oh, the places you’ll go!” There’s the Seuss-a-palooza character parade with bell ringing and dancing around the ship, arts and crafts activities, and an interactive story time.

At meal times, your kids’ favourite characters, like Cats in Hats and Fish Red and Blue, will fool around and skip between tables that look like they’ve popped straight out of the books.

Breakfast and brunch are no exceptions. Amazing, crazy-coloured concoctions are served by Thing 1 and Thing 2 waiters. Be prepared to tuck into Yoghurt Parfait Schlopp, Moose Juice, Green Eggs and Ham, and Truffula Tree Pancakes that looks just like the Cat in The Hat’s striped hat. Yummy! (Parents will be relieved to know that a classic brekkie is available too!)

Dedicated fun for kids

The appeal to families gets even better when you consider that there’s a free Camp Carnival kids’ club for children aged two to 11. There are seemingly endless activities designed for children according to various age groups, and experienced counsellors are on hand to make sure everyone is having fun.

And when parents want some time to enjoy themselves, the Night Owls program lets the kids stay up late and have fun until 1 am. It’s available at an extra fee per child, but trust us, it’s worth it!

Super cool stuff for teens and tweens

If there’s one thing teens love, it’s doing their own thing. And Carnival Legend lets them do exactly. In Club O2, older teens can watch movies, challenge new mates to ultra-gaming sessions, or just, you know, hang out with other travellers their age. Meanwhile, younger teens (aged 12 to 14) will love Circle C, where they can enjoy awesome parties, outdoor movies and more.

Time for adults only

So where will you be while the kids are completely entertained from morning ‘til night? Start with the adult-only Serenity Retreat. As soon as you find yourself swaying in a hammock with the sea breeze and a bar just over there, you won’t want to leave! This is what bliss feels like.

Family fun time

Carnival Legend also has plenty of activities that bring families together for a great quality time, because that’s what family holidays are all about. With “Hasbro, The Game Show”, you can all play giant versions of games like Connect 4. How do you play giant Connect 4, you ask? By throwing coloured basketballs into a huge blue frame of course! Or get stuck into the many other activities, like a fantastic musical production, mini golf, or pool day.

When it comes to family cruising, Carnival Legend has something for everyone. Could it be the best Carnival cruise ship for families? We’ll leave that for you to decide.
