Heading on a Carnival Cruise with the family? We’ve got a few tips to help everyone enjoy the perfect 24 hours.

The countdown is over and your family holiday has finally arrived. So how will you make sure everyone has the time of their lives?

Lucky for you, Carnival Cruises has already taken care of that, packing every ship with onboard entertainment, activities, shows, sports and more.

Here’s how to spend the perfect 24 hours on a Carnival cruise:

8am

What better way to start the day than with a stack of Truffle Tree Pancakes at the Seuss at Sea breakfast! Kids can dig into the amazing concoctions served by Thing 1 and Thing 2 waiters, like the Yogurt Parfait Schlopp or Green Eggs and Ham, washed down with some Moose Juice. Don’t worry – you can enjoy classic brekkie!

9am

By now, your kids are begging you to take them to Camp Carnival. This award-winning program offers heaps of supervised activities for children aged two to 11. And there’s plenty for the teens in Club O2 and Circle C too.

9.15am

Time to enjoy some well-deserved “me” time. Start with the Spa Carnival, where you can choose a soothing hot stone massage, full-body wrap or one of the many other wellness therapies. Or keep the fitness regime on track with a run around the jogging track followed by an onboard fitness class. At least you’ve earned that second dessert later!

11am

Take advantage of the sunshine with a poolside lounging session and a dip in the pool. But which one? Pick from the aft pool with sea breeze or one of the midship pools with an oh-so-handy ice-cream spot. We won’t tell if you don’t…

12noon

Can you hear the sizzle of a barbie? Pick up the kids from Club Carnival and head over to Fat Jimmy’s BBQ Buffet for a good ole family lunch. Italian sausages, barbecue chicken breast and classic pulled-pork sangers – it’s all there!

1pm

After lunch, convince the kids to ditch Club Carnival of some family fun. When they see the WaterWorks Splash Zone, mini-golf course, 24-hour video arcade and basketball court, they won’t be able to refuse. And when your older kids dare you to join them on the Green Thunder slide, neither will you!

3pm

Grab your bells and whistles because it’s time for the Seuss-a-palooza character parade! Dance and skip around the ship with your favourite Dr Seuss characters. Then drop in for interactive story time and arts and crafts. Or you can take a workshop to find out how to make those quirky towel animals that appear in your room every day.

5pm

After all that action, you’ve earned some time in the adult-only Serenity Retreat. Find yourself a hammock and catch up on your reading (or snoozing) as you sway with the sea breeze. Bliss.

7pm

Sit down to a family dinner that your kids will love too! Even the pickiest of eaters will tuck into fun familiar meals, like spaghetti and meatballs, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, and plenty of fresh fruit and veggies. Meanwhile, you can savour delicious, healthy meals.

9pm

Fancy a night minus the kids? With Night Owls, kids can stay up late with their friends while you show off your moves on the dance floor or catch a side-splitting show in the Punchliner Comedy Club. There’s plenty of time to explore – for a small fee, kids aged 11 and under can have fun until as late as 1 am!
