How would your family spend 24 hours on a Royal Caribbean cruise? Here’s our guide to the perfect day.

You’ve arrived on the Royal Caribbean cruise with your family in tow. There’s a list of activities and entertainment as long as your weekly shopping list, so where do you start?

Here’s our guide to the perfect 24 hours on a Royal Caribbean cruise:

8am

With the sun peeking through the window, glistening on the ocean, it’s time to get ready and head to breakfast. Royal Caribbean ships serve up a vast selection of breakfast options, but there’s no going past the DreamWorks Character Breakfast (on selected ships). Kids will love eating a special breakfast while meeting their favourite characters. Don’t forget your camera!

9am

Time to drop the little ones off to the kids club. Royal Caribbean provides an award-winning Adventure Ocean program with age-appropriate activities for children of all ages, from babies to teens. Younger kids will love the Fisher-Price playgroup while older kids can enjoy a day packed with treasure hunts, karaoke, arts and crafts, and more.

9.15am

With the kids entertained, find your way to the spa for a pampering Vitality treatment – and relax. If you’re feeling active, why not head to a morning fitness class in the gym? After your workout, grab a fresh fruit smoothie in the Vitality café.

11am

Head to the deck for a spot of mini-golf with new friends. You can even surprise them with some of the tricks you learned on the advanced golf simulator.

12noon

Stomachs grumbling? Pick up the kids and grab a casual bite in the sunshine. A fully loaded pizza hot out of the oven at Sorrento’s is bound to hit the spot. Or why not take a seat at the counter of Dog House for a traditional hot dog.

1pm

Spend an unforgettable family afternoon exploring the fun-packed activities on deck. Climb to the top of the climbing wall. Play games in the pool.  And if you’re lucky enough to be on Voyager of the Seas, ride the waves on the FlowRider surfing simulator (or watch your kids from the safety of the spectator stand).

3pm

Don’t miss the DreamWorks parade with all your family’s favourite characters from Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, Shrek and more. And if your Royal Caribbean ship has an ice rink (which is most of them!), you can catch them again later at DreamWorks on Ice.

6pm

Freshen up before dinner in your spacious family stateroom. Need to keep the kids entertained while you get ready? All cabin TVs have a dedicated DreamWorks channel playing all of the best movies.

7pm

Good job you planned ahead and booked a spot with My Family Time Dining. Once your kids have finished their meals, they’ll be whisked away by the Adventure Ocean staff for an evening of fun. And you can enjoy the rest of your dinner in peace!

9pm

While your little cruisers are having the time of their lives, you can finally enjoy the date night you’ve been waiting for. Will it be a comedy show and live music in the chic lounge? Or a flutter in Casino Royale followed by a martini (shaken not stirred)? The night is yours…

Still got some time up your sleeves? Head out on deck and gaze at the stars. Then start planning what you’ll do tomorrow! Check the latest Royal Caribbean cruises here or download the high resolution cruise ship infographics from the Ozcruising blog:
